St Paul's Anglican Church, East Devonport, was opened for divine service and dedicated to St Paul on July 2, 1879, and consecrated on March 11, 1882, when Bishop Bromby was able to attend.
It was closed for repairs in 2019 after a fire and the congregation began meeting at the Parish's other church, St John's in Devonport. Along with many other churches across the state, the decision was made by the Anglican Diocese of Tasmania to sell St Paul's to help pay for their National Redress Scheme commitments.
Due to the social distancing restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic, weekly services were not able to restart once the repairs were completed and the church was closed on March 26, 2023.
